Anastasia State Park / St. Augustine Beach (FL)
St. Augustine Beach and the long strand of Anastasia State Park sit on the same offshore Hawthorn-source phosphate horizon as Mickler's and Ponte Vedra. Less famous, more shoreline to spread out, and a state-park gate keeps weekend crowds manageable.
Walk the wrack line at low tide the day after a NE blow. Concentrate at the inlet end (north of the park) where shell-and-pebble lag piles up.
Anastasia State Park has a small day-use fee and ample parking. St. Augustine Beach has free public access at multiple street ends.
Open beach surface collection is fine. State park rules: no digging in dunes; surface tooth collecting is tolerated.
